It was Friday night. It was time for another comic. Funny as hell, it was the scariest thing I could imagine.

Q & Ages 25 & Up #17: May 2010

Previous Q&ANext Q&A

It's time for the May Q & A! Here're the questions that Monkeywrench and the gang over on the HissTank.com forums cooked up this month. They will not stop until they get the answers that they crave!

Question #1 - Monkeywrench asks:
Do you have an estimated date on when the Archive Browser will be back?

1337W422102 answers:
Not yet. I'm working not only on restoring it, but improving it, with links to the Comic Browser right from each individual comic's post. I'm doing this over the summer, so it will be up before September. How soon before, I'm not 100% sure just yet.

Question #2 - Monkeywrench asks:
Without looking it up or cheating, Who do you think has made the most appearances in your comics? I would think it’s got to be Clutch, Hawk or Scarlett.

1337W422102 answers:
I can't cheat since the Archive's down! Those 3 have definitely had the most screen time. I would think Clutch, since he made a lot of cameos in the background and appeared in story arcs the other two didn't.

Question # 3 - Monkeywrench asks:
Will the upcoming P.I. Joe Film Noir Story be canon or an alternate universe?

1337W422102 answers:
Like Plastic Gear Solid, P.I. Joe will be an alternate-universe story. It'll just make things easier that way.

Question #4 - Monkeywrench asks:
Any chance that we will see a Ninja Fight in the future? A classic Storm Shadow vs. Snake Eyes comic is overdue in my opinion… What do you think?

1337W422102 answers:
Yeah, I'm way overdue for a duel between these two. I don't think their Street Fighter match or their bidding war really count for much. I've purposefully avoided their battle so far as I find Storm Shadow really hard to write for, which is why he doesn't show up too often. I really have to put a ninja duel in there, somewhere, even though I'd rather have them fighting alongside each other.

Question #5 - Imperial Ozma asks:
So with Radio Ga Ga in the introduction of the new members of Beard Force (from the Jedi, to the fans) have we seen the end of Beard Force or like Radio, have they yet to have their finest hour?

1337W422102 answers:
Beard Force, someone still loves you! While Beard Radio is no more, the team is still around. We shall see them again in the future.

Question #6 - Ctrl Z asks:
Ages 25th and Up is updated pretty frequently. What do you do with the sets during the week? Are they always set up, or do you put them away each time?

1337W422102 answers:
You're cutting me a little more slack than I deserve! My sets are literally just the Headquarters playset, some printed-out backgrounds, some props, some lights, and panels from my computer. At the end of each shoot, I have to put everything away, which is a pain - giving each figure back their accessories, putting them on their stands, putting their stands back on the shelves, putting the HQ pieces back into the big box I found for them, finding away to get all the pieces to fit and the box to close, etc...

Question # 7 - Night Viper 143 asks:
Who are some “actors” you are looking forward to working with in the future? Especially now that the awesomeness of the Pursuit of Cobra line is becoming less a myth and more of a reality.

1337W422102 answers:
Honestly, besides for that badass Beachhead and newschool Clutch with the Hammer remake (seriously, that beast ain't a VAMP!), I'm not really looking forward to much. There will be some more Star Wars cameos and various crossovers I've planned, but that's pretty much it for now. Though I WOULD like the A-Team and their van. When Cobra hires the A-Team, their plans might actually work. And with Clutch and his team in the new Hammer, Beard Force will finally have met their match!

My friend The David Harris suggested I answer a few more questions for you guys. The following are provided by Mr. James Lipton:

What is your favorite word?
Don't have one.

What is your least favorite word?
Too many to list.

What turns you on?
Redheads, white women, and Rick Springfield.

What turns you off?
Mediocrity.

What sound or noise do you love?
Oldschool video game audio.

What sound or noise do you hate?
Annoying modern technology noise pollution, like cell phones and people who don't know how headphones work.

What is your favorite curse word?
I don't feel like getting various groups on my case.

What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
>implying I have a job

What profession would you not like to do?
Any of that low-caste third-world stuff.

If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?
"You just won The Game."

That's it for another month, folks! Report back tomorrow for an all-new comic! Have a great weekend, and thanks to all who participated!

Montreal Comic Convention, Post-Con Report

Remember at Halloween, when Gambit and Deadpool went to that party? Well, they were at it again this year, going to the Montreal Comic Convention with their good friend Dr. Manhattan. Read on to find out how it went. Take it away, Wade!

Hey there, cool cats and cool catettes. So I got together with some buddies of mine and we headed on down to the Montreal Comic Con. I heard there was a costume contest, so I dressed up as James Bond. Roger Moore-era Bond, mind you. He was so handsome.

Anyway, the three of us got real pumped for our day of digging through bins looking for THAT ONE ISSUE, haggling with dealers, looking at stuff we could never afford, and, of course, checkin' out dames in kinky outfits. Real pumped. Like, '90s high-top boots pumped. The Doc's a pretty cool guy, even though he gave me cancer.

Speakin' of the ladies, we quickly teamed up with a few of them to defend Truth, Freedom, and Dollar Bins.

We ran into the Phoenix and Gambit seemed to approve. Doc Manhattan, not so much. This dude's just TOO Zen. If he keeps it up, he'll always have blue balls.

Gambit nearly divided by zero when he met his creator, Chris Claremont. If Remy touched Chris, the Universe would've collapsed due to the paradox, or something. I don't know. I'm not good with theoretical apocalpysology (Home Ec was always more fun).

Dr. Manhattan seemed to get along well with Claremont. Not sure why. Maybe they both like taking engine blocks apart in the nude. I don't know.

As usual, there was some crazy good local talent, like Kate Bradley (I call her Red) and Mr. Kelly Tindall, busy at work in this photo while the foxy lady behind him sends a text message to her best friend explaining how she's bored out of her skull and tired of the dude with the red rag over his head checking her out.

Get a loada Kelly's table! Check out that there Big Sister. I don't know about you guys, but I love a chick who can rock leg braces, corsets, and porthole-equipped diving helmet. Long walks on the ocean floor? I could totally get in on that. Would you kindly call me, baby, and make my dreams come true?

It was also good to see some other Canadian costumed crusaders at the 'con, including the team from Heroes of the North. I guess even the Doc can't resist a bumblebee brassiere. (Can you blame him?) And wasn't he in 'Nam with the Canadian Shield? No, I haven't read a history book lately. Why do you ask?
While peacefully perusing a Star Wars bin, I found myself confronted by the Dark Lord of the Sith himself, Darth Freakin' Vader. Dude's as tall as they say he is and twice as smelly. Also, his movies REALLY took liberties with his uppity flashlight.

Luckily, Dr. Manhattan was able to restore order before anyone got boo-boos.

But that's not all! I got the surprise of my life (no, Siryn didn't take me back) when I was chosen as one of the winners of the costume contest! I guess I really DID look like Roger Moore. One of the sweet prizes I got was a near-mint copy of G.I. Joe #1, with colours that look even more vibrant than any of my monthly books! Next time, I'll try dressing up as the Shark from Jaws.

There you have it! Thanks, Wade, for your colourful commentary. An even bigger thank-yo to the convention organizers and to all who came to another fun-filled action-packed Montreal Comic Con! The next one is a 2-day convention in September, taking place on the weekend of the 11 and the 12. I'll be there. Will YOU?

This week's comic will be something a little different. Details will be revealed about Cobra's nefarious plot -- across the border! Check back this weekend for an all-new comic.

I apologize for the delay. Comic #90 will be up tonight, but I'm not sure how late that will be.

"By The Numbers" and Grow the Beard reminder

Ctrl-Z, one of the loyal comic readers from HissTank.com, wrote a short article about Ages 25 & Up on his site, ColorlessTune. (I didn't commission this in any way, mind you!) I just thought it was something cool I would share with you guys. Thanks, Ctrl-Z!

Also, if you haven't already checked out Helix's facebook page, there's still time to enter the "GROW THE BEARD" contest! Just click on this link and read the rules, and YOU could be the newest member of Beard Force. Contest closes tonight at midnight, so dig up a photo of you with a beard (or, if you're a woman, a photo of you with someone with a beard) that you feel demonstrates Beard Force values, and post it along with the required information on Helix's page. Once again, here are the rules. Good luck to all!

New comic will be up on/by Saturday, so stay tuned!
